The much-anticipated MW3 beta has kick-started, even an hour earlier than planned. Many players have already made their way in, and we can confirm this. Hurry up and join the excitement!

However, few players who have redeemed a code earlier are reporting issues of having to pre-order again. Be assured that these are just minor technical hiccups before the 6pm official launch and should resolve soon. So, stay patient and keep trying.

In the run-up to the launch of Modern Warfare 3 in November, we have arranged for an engaging MW3 beta this month. Presumably, you are here because you wish to know when exactly you can have your first bite of what is likely the concluding part of the Call of Duty Modern Warfare trilogy. Be aware, there will be a few days of early access, mainly for pre-orders, and those lucky ones who have bagged a code. An open beta for all follows just before the game’s formal inauguration.

Remeber, there are several ways to grab early access to the beta. Curious how? We suggest you to find out how to get and utilize a Modern Warfare 3 beta code. And, make sure to keep watch as more ways to join the beta will emerge as the beta progresses.

But first, let’s discuss what we have so far on the MW3 beta commencement time, so that you know exactly when to jump into action.

Note that the early access phase for PlayStation and all platforms begins two days ahead of their respective open beta periods. So, if you pre-order on PlayStation, you can explore MW3 for ten complete days – first in the five-day beta weekend, and next in the subsequent beta weekend.

The first weekend of the MW3 beta will feature five maps and five modes. Four of each will be available right from the start, the remaining map and mode will be added when the early access ends and the rest can join in. The maps for the primary weekend include: Favela, Estate, Skidrow, and the Ground War map: Popov Power. The additional map Rust enters the list on Sunday. The modes in the beta comprise Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint and Ground War, and Kill Confirmed gets added to the rotation on Sunday.

The MW3 beta is expected to have several rewards, making it substantial for you to participate. However, fans have not been quite impressed with the revealed MW3 beta reward operator skin.

Activision conducted its yearly CoD Next event just a day before the pre-release phase launch to offer a closer view of the exciting new features introduced in MW3. These include multiplayer modes, MW3 Zombies and a counseling of Warzone’s latest map, and Warzone Mobile content.

The bright side is that the beta does not require Xbox Game Pass Core (Formerly Xbox Live Gold) or PlayStation Plus.

Countdown to MW3 (2023) PlayStation beta start time

Curious about how long until the pre-release period launches? Here are our countdown timers for both the PlayStation and all platform betas:

What’s in Store in the Modern Warfare 3 (2023) beta?

We have some exciting news about the maps that will be featured in the MW3 beta, thanks to an announcement earlier this week. The following five maps (from the total of 16 in the full game) will be playable during the beta:

  • Favela
  • Estate
  • Rust
  • Skidrow
  • Highrise

We anticipate more revelations at this week’s CoD Next event scheduled for Thursday. There will presumably be some classic multiplayer modes, like the traditional deathmatch and possibly Kill Confirmed, as seen in the earlier Call of Duty betas, but let’s wait to confirm.

Of course, the pre-release phase will give you the privilege to have a closer look at all the available MW3 weapons. You might even get a chance to try out some of the MW3 vests and slide-boosting knee pads, which were teased during the developers’ showcase. However, these are just a couple of the numerous features you can expect during the beta and early access, as hinted by Activision and Sledgehammer Games.

Just like the MW2 open beta phase, the forthcoming installment’s pre-release period will only offer a peek at the features expected at launch. This will comprise access to five MW3 maps that fans loved from the previous versions. So, die-hard CoD enthusiasts should find the open beta quite thrilling.

The beta will be available for download from the Xbox Store and PlayStation Store on their respective platforms and via Steam, Battle.net, and the Microsoft Store on PC. Pre-ordering from your nearby local retailer won’t be the sole route to bag an early access beta code. The official Call of Duty accounts have been conducting a great deal of giveaways and providing easier access to the beta. We have summed up some of them in our guide here. Note that those who pre-order will also enjoy an early access of seven days to the campaign. So, ponder on your options and refer to our Modern Warfare 3 pre-order guide.

That covers all the crucial information regarding the Modern Warfare 3 beta launch time.
