The most recent patch for Fortnite has altered the game substantially. With the launch of Chapter 5, a slew of fresh content was introduced to the beloved title. The game had gone without significant updates for over a month, but the wait ended with the arrival of the v28.10 update on a Tuesday morning, rejuvenating the game’s offering.

Epic has implemented changes across all primary game modes detailed in our complete Fortnite update notes. This involves several adjustments to the balance of items, aimed at improving gameplay and fairness.

Ballistic Shield and Sniper Rifles Take a Hit in Latest Fortnite Update

The v28.10 update for Fortnite has seen Epic Games scale back the effectiveness of the Ballistic Shield and the Reaper Sniper Rifle. Recognizing that the shield was a bit too robust, particularly in Zero Build modes, the update has made it possible to throw off the shield bearer with less damage. Essentially, the Ballistic Shield now becomes inoperative with fewer hits.

Reductions in the Reaper Sniper Rifle’s bullet speed and enhancements to its bullet drop mean players will find landing long-range shots more of a challenge.

Conversely, the Enforcer AR and Hyper SMG have been enhanced, making them more formidable on the battlefield. The Enforcer AR, previously weaker compared to similar weapons, now boasts higher damage, an improved headshot bonus, and minimized bullet drop.

The less-favored Hyper SMG has been reworked to offer greater accuracy, achieved through a narrowed bullet spread.

Further alterations in the latest Fortnite update include the reset of sprint speed, energy restoration, and storm circle pacing back to their Chapter 4 statuses.
