Cory Barlog, the creative mind at the helm of Santa Monica Studio, has confirmed that the eagerly awaited sequel God of War Ragnarök remains on track for release in 2022.

Amidst widespread rumors and anticipation, the gaming community has been abuzz with conjecture about the possibility of Sony postponing the high-profile title, with speculation pinpointing a debut this November.

Addressing the community directly, Barlog engaged with a Twitter user’s comment, firmly stating that there are no delays in the game’s launch.

An individual expressed their frustration on Twitter saying, “Why won’t you all just go on and tell us that ragnarok is delayed so that we can move on and plan the rest of the year; seriously, this is getting frustrating.”

Barlog’s response was clear and straightforward: “because its [sic] not.”

Barlog has previously interacted with the fanbase, managing their high expectations back in April, when he asked fans for their patience:

“Everyone is completely focused and working hard; we are a group of perfectionists. There’s a great deal happening at the moment that we’re eager to share but isn’t quite ready to be revealed yet.

“I can assure you, the moment we have something prepared to show, we will be thrilled to share it with you straight away. We don’t want to withhold anything,” Barlog emphasized. “So hang tight, be assured that something exciting is on the horizon, and know that all of us at Santa Monica Studio are profoundly grateful for the unwavering support you have shown us.”

Unless there are any announcements from Sony to the contrary, players can look forward to experiencing God of War Ragnarök on both the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 in 2022.
