Following a wave of criticism from the player base, Epic has revised the price tags on select car packages within Fortnite’s recent Rocket Racing event.

Announcements went live on the official game channels about planned price drops with the developers “switching lanes” to lower two of the most exorbitant bundles’ costs. Specifically, the Diesel pack now dips from a steep 4000 V-Bucks to a more affordable 2500 V-Bucks, while both the Jager and Cyclone bundles plummet from 2500 V-Bucks to just 1500 V-Bucks.

For a quick recap, these cars were integrated within Fortnite’s new high-octane racing mode, Rocket Racing, which invites players to compete on custom tracks. Not only do these vehicles serve as aesthetic upgrades akin to character skins in the original game mode, but they also translate to playable options in Rocket League for linked accounts. Nevertheless, the initial rollout priced single cars at an equivalent of roughly $36 (£28.71), stirring discontent among fans.

Epic has not overlooked those who splurged on the bundles at their introduction prices, assuring a reimbursement in V-Bucks to their accounts “within the upcoming week.” The reduction has been met with approval from many in the Fortnite community; however, a segment continues to argue that the cost for the car packages—and Fortnite Festival’s music packs—remains on the higher side.

Besides these adjustments, last week marked the debut of Lego Fortnite which quickly gained immense popularity.
