About the Andor Series

Andor steps back into the timeline, serving as a prequel to the celebrated film Rogue One, which made its debut in 2016 and was lauded for its unique approach and narrative. The movie featured Diego Luna as Cassian Andor, an espionage expert for the Rebellion.

The show delves into the origin story of Cassian Andor, charting his journey leading up to Rogue One. Diego Luna returns to his role, alongside an impressive cast including Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgard, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, and Fiona Shaw. The series also brings back Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera, continuing his character arc alongside Cassian.

Breaking away from the conventional formula, Andor will premiere with an expansive 12 episodes in its inaugural season, diverging from Disney’s usual six-episode format for its Star Wars and Marvel properties. The first three episodes will drop on September 21st, 2022, with subsequent episodes airing weekly until November 23rd.

The release of the trailer follows a slight delay in the show’s launch, but now fans can solidify their calendars for the premiere date. Devotees of Rogue One have ample reason to be thrilled.
