The colossal enemy of the cosmos, Galactus, is set to invade the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Revealed by The Hollywood Reporter, the iconic cosmic antagonist will take shape through actor Ralph Ineson in the anticipated The Fantastic Four installment, helmed by director Matt Shakman.

Ralph Ineson, hailed for his portrayal of Dagmer Cleftjaw on Game of Thrones and Chris Finch in the original UK The Office, has been a staple of character acting in Tinseltown. His recent roles include appearances in The Creator and The First Omen, with an upcoming role in Robert Eggers’ reimagining of Nosferatu. Fans might also remember his chilling performance in Eggers’ The Witch.

Ineson possesses a voice that is both commanding and foreboding—a perfect match for the role of Galactus with its chilling depth, ideal for a character who poses a threat to entire planets.

The brainchild of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Galactus burst onto the scene in Fantastic Four #48 back in 1966. Accompanied by his herald, the Silver Surfer, he roams the universe in relentless pursuit of planets to devour. When Galactus targets Earth, it falls to the Fantastic Four to thwart his plans.

Galactus has emerged as a recurring and formidable foe throughout Marvel’s history, gaining status as one of the preeminent villains in the comic realm. Ineson’s casting as Galactus is a significant improvement from his portrayal in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer where he was reduced to a nebulous cosmic cloud.

The ensemble for The Fantastic Four is shaping up impressively, featuring Pedro Pascal as Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bacharach as The Thing. Newcomers rounding out the cast include Julia Garner, Paul Walter Hauser, and John Malkovich.
