The video game world celebrates Tomb Raider as a leading icon, with the adventure-loving Lara Croft at its helm. Fans eagerly anticipate her next escapades. Having ventured across various gaming realms, including Fortnite and Call of Duty, Lara Croft’s presence has now extended to the realm of Magic The Gathering (MTG). Moreover, in the forthcoming period, she’s set to embark on a journey back in time, with remastered editions of the first three Tomb Raider games. While excitement surrounds these remastered versions, the anticipation intensifies for the upcoming TR12 sequel. Though the new game remains shrouded in mystery, a Tomb Raider Magic The Gathering card might have given us a glimpse of the renewed Lara Croft design that we could see in action.

This year has been quite thrilling for the Lara Croft following. The Tomb Raider franchise celebrated 27 years, and the character made a remarkable return in August with a crossover in Call of Duty, featuring the voice of the distinguished Keeley Hawes. While 2023 has been a year to remember, the excitement only escalates for the next year, promising the remastered games and a Netflix anime series, with Hayley Atwell lending her voice to the iconic character.

Adding to the excitement of the remasters and the upcoming Netflix series, a sequel titled TR12 is confirmed to be in the design phase. The specifics of this new game are scant, and we have yet to behold any official imagery. Nonetheless, we are hopeful that the Magic The Gathering card serves as a clue to the future Lara Croft model.

MTG’s Tomb Raider Card May Reveal a Sneak Peek of the Latest Lara Croft Model

An enthralling crossover between Tomb Raider and Magic The Gathering has been announced. The much-anticipated Tomb Raider and Magic The Gathering fusion is nearing release, and fans must act quickly if they wish to possess this exclusive, limited edition set found only on the Secret Lair website. As with all MTG cards, the artwork is nothing short of spectacular. The talented individuals behind this stunning artwork, acknowledged in the announcement, include Jonas De Ro, Bartek Fedyczak, Eliz Roxs, and Greg Staples.

At the heart of the card collection is Lara Croft, depicted as a legendary human ranger creature. For devotees of Magic The Gathering, her capabilities consist of First Strike and reach, allowing her to retrieve and mark a legendary card or land card from a graveyard with a discovery counter. Beyond the skills, the most captivating element of the card is its visual depiction. The artwork may just be hinting at the Lara Croft design we might see in Tomb Raider 12, as it aligns with her recent Call of Duty representation and the consistent imagery on Tomb Raider social media channels.

Crystal Dynamics has officially announced plans to create a more cohesive narrative across the series, merging the survivor origin story with the traditional and Legend eras of Lara Croft that fans hold dear. This harmonized version of Lara, as showcased on the MTG card, features her in the classic ensemble of blue tank top and cargo shorts, along with dual pistols, the survivor’s ice axe, and a green pendant. If this image represents what’s in store for Lara in Tomb Raider 12, both longstanding admirers and newcomers should find it a satisfying nod to the character’s evolution. The visage seems to marry the survivor’s features with the iconic lengthy braid of classic Lara.

Regarding the TR12 game itself, what is known is that it’s a single-player adventure, under development by Crystal Dynamics using the Unreal Engine 5, and will be distributed by Amazon Games. Fans are hopeful that a teaser might be unveiled at The Game Awards 2023, offering a brief glimpse into the sequel. However, as with any anticipation, it’s wise for the community to temper expectations.
